A warm welcome to our school website.

Kingaroy State School was established in 1902 and since then has grown and developed as the decades have passed by.

Curriculum

Our curriculum has been developed using the key elements that students, staff and parents regard as essential to a successful education. These are implemented using the Key Learning Areas of the curriculum where units of work have been developed for each year level. Key elements of our curriculum include – daily blocks of time for explicit teaching of Literacy and Numeracy, Key learning Areas and Essential learnings integrated into units of work, culminating activities to celebrate success and to share with parents, daily fitness, extra-curricular activities.

Values Program

throughout our school that focuses on the behaviours we wish to foster in our students – manners, patience, truthfulness, kindness, consideration, living skills, concentration, creativity, friendship, co-operation, helpfulness, positiveness, honest, forgiveness, responsibility, self acceptance, determination, generosity, loyalty, independence, self discipline, fairness, compassion, citizenship, perseverance, thankfulness, trust, tolerance, justice, courage, contentment, reflection, service and respect.

Special Education Program

The Early Childhood Developmental Program (ECDP) provides educational sessions for children with suspected disabilities from Birth to Prep. The Special Education Program (SEP) supports students with disabilities in their development from Prep to Year 7. All students are encouraged to participate in their age appropriate class and to partake in all school activities. Real life programs (Eg Community Access, Cooking, Functional Reading, Functional Maths) are used to teach essential life skills in a meangingful context. We are supported by visiting therapists and advisory visiting teachers.

Extra Curricular Activities

Our school has an excellent music program with choirs and instrumental music bands. A variety of sporting activities are offered for our students.

Our extensive grounds provide plenty of space for our students to undertake learning experiences.
