School Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS)

SWPBS at Kingaroy State School

School Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) aims to build capacity in schools to increase appropriate student behaviour & decrease student problem behaviour through:

  • Building a continuum of support for all students.
  • Building comprehensive systems for rewards, monitoring and reinforcement.
  • “Re-thinking” school discipline.

As part of this process our school has developed a Matrix of Expectations (PDF, 233 KB). As part of the Positive Behaviour Support process our school has developed a rewards system (PDF, 72 KB). This system aims to acknowledge positive behaviour. As students progress through the Positive Behaviour Support process there are a number of positive behaviours (PDF, 38 KB) that we strive to instil in our students.

Our Diamond Students are very important to us they work very hard each term to get to this level. We celebrate these students each term with a Parade and Diamond Morning Tea.

Our students can also earn Kingaroy Cash (all students) or Vivos (Years 5 and 6 only) to spend at school in a variety of ways. Students are also able to use Kingaroy Cash and Vivos to access our WOWS and Earners Sausage Sizzles

Responsible Behaviour Plan for Students

Education Queensland is committed to provisions that ensure all young Queenslanders have a right to and receive a quality education. Our aim is to create the conditions for each learner to progress towards responsible self-management, whilst learning about how and why people behave the way they do. Because we focus on catering for individual differences, we realise that all children will move towards this goal at their own pace and that they will also have individual needs along the way.
