Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) aims to build capacity in schools to increase appropriate student behaviour & decrease student problem behaviour through:
Building a continuum of support for all students.
Building comprehensive systems for rewards, monitoring and reinforcement.
“Re-thinking” school discipline.
As part of this process our school has developed a Matrix of Expectations (PDF, 138KB) . As part of the Positive Behaviour Support process our school has developed a rewards system. This system aims to acknowledge positive behaviour. Students earn Kingaroy Cash as a reward that they can use in our Rewards Shop or to purchase WOW Rewards each term.
Our Diamond Students are very important to us they work very hard each term to get to this level. We celebrate these students each term with a Parade and Diamond Morning Tea.
Our school has three School Wide Expectations that are taught in each classroom:
Across our entire school every classroom has the same set of School Rules. Students can earn Kingaroy Cash in their classrooms by working hard and following their class rules. Each class also has a Rewards Menu so that students can spend their hard earned Kingaroy Cash.
Our school now has a PBL Mascot. His name is Silo. Silo is always looking for positive behaviours to reward.
